Steps for
preparing the IBCs for shipment:
| |
1. |
Every IBC must be empty,
(i.e., drip-dry, granule -free),
free of any residue on the
inside
and
outside of the container,
and
be in compliance with Federal
Regulation 40 CFR 261.7.
| |
Failure to comply
may result in the containers
being returned to or heel
disposal charges being imposed.
When the product is at your site
it has value, once sent to us it
becomes a waste and is handled
accordingly. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
2. |
All IBC’s must be secured
with the proper fill caps, gaskets
and bungs. All valves must be
closed and all labels must remain
in place. Federal Regulations
prohibit the pickup of open
containers. |
| |
|
|
| |
3. |
Twenty–five dollars
per IBC may be charged for IBC’s
that are unserviceable.
IBC’s from other programs may be
collected as well with approval. |
“Serviceable” is
defined as:
-
Cage is free of
excessive rust, bowing or having
broken welds or bolts, maintaining
its original functionality.
-
Steel pallet must
have all welds and bolts intact
with no broken or bent corners.
Wooden pallets must have no broken
or missing boards.
-
Bottles must be
intact, free of punctures, cuts,
cracks, heavy stains and must be
secured with the proper fill caps,
gaskets and bungs. All valves must
be closed and all labels must
remain in place.
-
Bottles & cages
must not be spray painted, marked
or covered with residue (i.e.
lading, paint, coating, pulp,
etc.)
